Britain’s royal brothers spook snake
GABORONE, Botswana — Britain’s royal brothers were a bit nervous when game wardens asked them to hold an 8.5 foot (2.6 meter) African rock python.
The snake was even more so Tuesday.
As Prince Harry and his older brother William settled the snake on their shoulders — Harry near the head, William near the tail — it urinated onto the floor of the education center at a Botswana nature reserve.
John Aves, education director at the reserve, says the snake “was nervous and scared. It was an automatic reflex to urinate.”
The brothers’ tour of southern Africa includes stops at charity projects in Botswana and Lesotho, and a visit to South Africa, which is hosting the World Cup. William is president of England’s Football Association, which is bidding for the 2018 World Cup.
