Officials: AZ man tried to feed kitten to python

PHOENIX — An Arizona man was arrested after authorities say they watched a video of him apparently trying to feed a kitten to a python and later killing the feline by drop-kicking it.

Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies arrested 28-year-old Jeremy Tuffly at his Mesa home on Monday on suspicion of felony animal cruelty. Tuffly, who has since been released from custody, has an unlisted phone number.

His arrest came after deputies received a DVD of the incident from an unnamed person who knew about it.

The video shows a man the sheriff’s office identifies as Tuffly smiling while repeatedly and roughly throwing the kitten at a python in a backyard. It then cuts to a nighttime scene with the man picking up the live kitten from the ground and drop-kicking it. The kitten lands in the middle of a street.

Sheriff’s officials say the kitten died.
