Build special crossing for frogs, toads, French say!
By ANIFriday, February 26, 2010
LONDON - An animal protection group has called upon French authorities to have special crossings for frogs so that they are saved from being squashed on the country’s roads.
“For frogs, toads and newts, the most visible cause of death is undoubtedly road traffic: the animals try to reach the damp areas they need to reproduce and are flattened by the million,” the Telegraph quoted the Association for the Protection of Wild Animals, as saying on its website.
The group has also put forward the suggestion of building tunnels for frogs and toads to cross roads and advising drivers to see that the little creatures are not harmed. (ANI)
